Boston’s impressive new Rosegarth Square development has reached its final milestone with all outstanding works now completed.
Rosegarth View, a new commercial space with residential accommodation, along with car parking facilities and the square itself, have now officially been handed over by the site’s main contractors Lindum to Boston Borough Council.
The transformation of the site has been made possible thanks to £14.8 million of funding from the UK Government and a further £2.3 million of Boston Partnership Funding, supporting investment in the area and helping to deliver improvements for residents, visitors and businesses.
The funding has enabled the Council to intervene to acquire the freehold interests in the former B&M site and Crown House and carry out the necessary demolitions to clear the way for the new developments.
Rosegarth View, which replaces the former Crown House building, has been designed to bring new life and activity to the area. The ground floor provides flexible commercial space, creating opportunities for businesses to establish themselves in the heart of the town. The building is currently under offer and further details will be available soon.
The upper two floors provide 18 high-quality one-bedroom self-contained flats, some of which offer great views across the square and others toward the Stump. These flats will come forward to the market for private rent over the coming months.
Completion of Rosegarth View is designed to complement the new public realm at Rosegarth Square, which officially opened in September and provides an improved space for residents, businesses and visitors to enjoy.
Parking space for 44 cars, including four designated disabled bays, is now available on part of the former B&M site. The car park will be controlled and monitored by Boston Borough Council.
The completion of the scheme represents an important milestone for the area and the culmination of the work to transform Rosegarth Square into a space that can be enjoyed and used by the community in the future.
Councillor Dale Broughton, Leader of Boston Borough Council, said: “It is fantastic to see the Rosegarth Square redevelopment now fully completed. This has been a significant project for the town, and the £14.8 million of UK Government funding and £2.3 million of Boston Partnership funding, has allowed us to deliver improvements that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors – and serve businesses – for many years to come.
