Cabinet backs new ‘Build it in Boston’ pilot to attract businesses, jobs and investment

Boston Borough Council has approved a £45,000 pilot scheme, ‘Build it in Boston’, to attract high-growth businesses in sectors such as digital, technology and IT services, creating local jobs and boosting the borough’s economy. Running from winter 2026 to spring 2027, the initiative will promote Boston’s affordable business spaces and transport links, alongside financial support for businesses looking to establish or expand in the area.

Imps auction League One winners medal to help fan Katie's cancer fight

Lincoln City are auctioning a Sky Bet League One-winning medal to support lifelong Imps fan Katie Brien, 30, who is battling cancer for the third time and raising £75,000 for treatment in Germany. More than £60,000 has already been raised, with the auction supported by Lincoln City Foundation, which helps people affected by cancer through its Fighting Fit programme.

Brits predict robot maintenance engineers and AI trainers (26% each), alongside tech-enabled doctors and nurses (25%), will be among the most common jobs by 2106, while human interaction (62%) and transferable skills (54%) will remain essential in the workplace. Brook Street recruitment experts predict emerging roles such as longevity specialists, human connection managers and care navigators, while many of today’s careers could become old-fashioned.
