John Marshall Defends Skegness and Serves Up a Topical Tune Full of Suspicious Characters
Tuesday's show saw John Marshall flying the flag for Lincolnshire's coast after a national newspaper article left him seeing red.
A Daily Mail feature ranking Britain's staycation destinations took aim at Skegness, describing it as a "loser's paradise", criticising the beach and suggesting visitors should steer clear altogether.
Needless to say, John wasn't having any of it.
Passionately defending one of Lincolnshire's best-loved seaside towns, John spent the show celebrating everything that makes Skegness special. From family memories and traditional seaside fun to the unique character that keeps generations returning year after year, listeners were quick to join in and share their own affection for the east coast favourite.
If the Daily Mail expected Lincolnshire people to quietly accept the criticism, they clearly underestimated Magna Radio listeners.
Co-Host Friday Returns
Co-Host Friday is back this week and John will be joined by Jason Lingard, owner of Kinetic Performance Gym in Lincoln.
The pair are good friends, so expect plenty of laughs, banter and stories alongside a chat about health, fitness and wellbeing.
Before Jason arrives, there will also be a special visit from the team at Boston Sausage as they celebrate National Sausage Day with plenty of delicious treats for the studio.
Topical Tune: AI CCTV Manhunts
The day's Topical Tune was inspired by reports that police could soon use artificial intelligence to analyse CCTV footage and identify suspects within minutes.
That led listeners to suggest songs inspired by being watched, chased or caught.
