On Breakfast, Mark Dennison got the day underway with another busy show packed with games, music and listener interaction.
The Six Thirty Two featured a double play from Red Hot Chili Peppers, with another artist double lined up for tomorrow morning at 6:30.
First Words saw the lyric “Now there’s a backseat lover that’s always undercover” correctly identified as Walk This Way by Run DMC and Aerosmith. Correct guesses came in from Cazzy, John in Branston and Chris in Grimsby. There will be more lyrics to guess tomorrow just before 7am.
Just a Sec returned with a brand new, very short clip. No one managed to get it right today, with guesses including Rihanna, Sophie Ellis Bextor and The Killers all proving incorrect. The clip will be slightly extended and played again tomorrow just after 7am.
Mind the Gap challenged listeners to spot the missing word from a clip featuring the commander of a mission to the moon. The correct answer is still up for grabs, with incorrect guesses so far including blindfold, hurry, panic and heartbeat. It returns tomorrow at around 8:15am.
The Lincs Link connected three tracks: Church of Your Heart by Roxette, Pray by Take That, and Heavyweight Champion of the World by Reverend and the Makers. The link was church and religion. Correct answers came from Scott at Taurus, Steve at GRS, Sam in Sibsey and many others. Another round of the game returns tomorrow at 9:30am.
John Marshall followed with a slightly chaotic start to his Tuesday after his alarm failed to go off. Despite the early morning drama, he made it into Magna just in time for the show, although it was a bit of a rush getting there.
In what may or may not have been a clever attempt to secure himself some free food, John turned his attention to a national list of the UK’s best Fish and Chip shops. Noticing that none from our region made the cut, he questioned the injustice and suggested launching a regular “Fish Friday” feature on his show. The idea would see local chippies providing lunch in exchange for a bit of on-air promotion. Great for supporting local businesses, although perhaps not ideal for his diet.
Looking ahead to the end of the week, John confirmed that Michael Moody from Moody’s Holiday Lets in Skegness will be joining him as co-host this Friday. Known for his strong social media presence and personality, he promises to be an entertaining addition to the show.
