Lincoln College has won a prized national CIPD People Management Award for the Best Health and Wellbeing Initiative - Public/Third Sector category.
Facing some tough competition and a rigorous interview and presentation process, the team was praised for the impact that You Matter, the College's own employee benefits platform has had on employees across three campuses in Lincoln and Newark.
The CIPD People Management Awards are the benchmark of excellence in HR, Learning and Development, and Organisational Development, showing that the people profession can be the force for change.
Mark Locking, CEO & Principal says: "This is a win that belongs to everyone. Words fail to express how proud I am for our people to win this award. It is much more than a programme or a trophy. It recognises what can happen when wellbeing becomes something we all have a part in.
"Whilst huge congratulations goes to the leadership of "You Matter" by the People Services Team the win belongs to every person who shared feedback, engaged with You Matter, championed wellbeing, supported another colleague or helped turn the initiative into part of everyday life at Lincoln College Group.
"It is also another important milestone in our ambition to be an Employer of Choice, creating a workplace where people feel valued, cared for and supported to be at their best.
"The results outlined in our award submission give us plenty to celebrate. Last year 12 pulse surveys said 88% of staff were 'happy' or 'very happy' to work at Lincoln College."
Handed the title at a glittering awards ceremony at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London, the College fought off other organisations in the category, Abu Dhabi Customs, NHS Property Services, Birmingham Hippodrome, Leeds College of Building, Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Salford.
Launched in September 2024, You Matter brings together health, wellbeing, reward and recognition into one organisation-wide approach. Built around six interconnected themes, Mind, Body, Soul, Money, Family and Recognition, the initiative was designed to give College staff inclusive, preventative and flexible support that reflects the different needs of the workforce.
