Inspectors say North Lincolnshire Council should be proud of its care and support for adults
Inspectors have rated North Lincolnshire Council’s adult social care as ‘Good’ and said staff should be proud of the positive difference they are making to people’s lives.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) assessment highlighted a strong focus on helping people live independently, effective partnership working and a commitment to continually improving services.
Inspectors recognised a clear vision for adult social care, centred on prevention and independence, with health services, voluntary organisations and community partners working together to provide joined-up support.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We are a transparent council and we always welcome the opportunity for people to inspect what we offer, particularly when it comes to something as important as care for older people and adults with complex needs.
“We welcomed this assessment and the opportunity for an independent view of what is working well and, just as importantly, where we can enhance services even further.
“The national assessment regime is still very new and continues to develop. Inspections are important, but they are only one measure – what ultimately matters is the difference we make to people’s lives every day.
The report highlights an extensive range of preventative services, including community hubs, reablement, wellbeing activities and integrated response teams, helping people remain independent for longer and reducing the need for hospital admission or increased levels of care.
It also recognises that many people feel listened to and are involved in shaping services through co-production and quality assurance, alongside the important contribution made by social workers, care providers, families and community partners.
The assessment identified areas where further development is needed, including ensuring assessments are consistently high quality, further strengthening safeguarding recording and making sure access is consistent to everyone.
