An investigation led by West Lindsey District Council and partner agencies, resulted in two individuals each being issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice for a large fly tip in the Wolds.
The massive pile of litter, which was dumped on the roadside in Croxby in the Wolds, was reported to the council by a member of the public.
Upon inspection, West Lindsey District Council’s enforcement team found evidence linking to multiple suspects from a Lincolnshire shop outside of the district.
The council worked with other agencies to issue two fixed penalty notices, which were both paid in full. The maximum for fly-tipping currently stands at £1,000.
Edward Reaney, Enforcement Officer at West Lindsey District Council, said: “We know fly-tipping is an issue that matters to our residents. This outcome reflects the continued work of our Enforcement Team to investigate reports and protect our local environment and communities.
“Thank you to the members of the public who continue to report fly-tipping. Your information plays an important role in helping us investigate offences and achieve results like this.”
Cllr Tom Smith, ward member for the Wold View Ward, said it is good to see the perpetrators “face justice for their unacceptable behaviour. It will hopefully send a message to others who may be thinking of doing the same.”
He said: “The Wolds is a special place for many people that live here and visit, so it angers me to see some people have no regard for the environmental damage they are cause.”

It’s a reminder that we can all play our part in reporting incidents such as fly tipping and dog fouling, because the West Lindsey District Council does not tolerate these kinds of offences.”
