Large parts of Winterton streets will be resurfaced this autumn as the council continues work to improve roads across North Lincolnshire.
Crews are due to start on King Street, Park Street, Hart Lane and Mill House Lane on Monday 12 October, with work scheduled for completion by Friday 6 November.
Alongside the new road surfaces, they will replace kerbs where needed, adjust drains and drain covers and put road markings back in place.
The work follows improvements completed in 30 towns and villages across North Lincolnshire. The council has also filled more than 18,000 potholes, tackling smaller defects alongside more extensive work like the resurfacing planned for Winterton.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said: “Whether it’s a pothole outside someone’s home or a street that needs a new surface, people want to see the work getting done.
“We’ve improved roads across 30 communities and filled more than 18,000 potholes. Now we’re moving ahead with a substantial programme on four streets in Winterton, because keeping the roads people rely on in good condition matters.”
Work has been completed in Ashby, Barrow, Barton, Belton, Bonby, Bottesford, Broughton, Burringham, Burton, East Halton, Epworth, Flixborough, Fockerby, Garthorpe, Gunness, Haxey, Hibaldstow, Holme, Kirmington, Kirton, Melton Ross, Messingham, Roxby, Scunthorpe, Thornton Curtis, Winterton, Wootton, Worlaby and Wrawby.
Cllr Elaine Marper, Winterton ward councillor and cabinet member for customer services, said: “King Street, Park Street, Hart Lane and Mill House Lane are used every day by people living and working in Winterton. I know road condition is something residents notice, so it’s good to see these streets included in the programme.
“There will be some disruption while the crews are working, and we’ll make sure people have the details they need before work starts.
“Once it’s finished, residents will have smoother roads that are better to use – and we’ll be moving on to the rest of the roads that need sorting in Winterton – they are coming soon.”
